Barcode Scanning Based on Gesture Detection

The manual barcode scanner, which is held by or attached to a hand or arm of the user, typically requires the use of one or both of the user's hands to perform the scan (e.g., to trigger the scan and/or to manipulate a position of the manual barcode scanner and/or the object). Often, the user is engaged in other activities involving the object while the user is to scan the barcode on the object. Therefore, there is a need for an accurate barcode scanner system that frees up the user's hands to permit the user to more readily and easily perform the other activities without having to set down or pick up the barcode scanner between scans.
